Some Dream in Technicolor...

I was literally speechless when I first saw the images of French born painter and multi-talented artist, Francoise Nielly. It took all my strength to try and settle my eyes and thoughts on any one element. The colors, the shapes, the contrast and dynamic, the piercing stares that lifted themselves up off the canvas and into a 3D atmosphere that could not be contained but desired the elevate higher. When you look closely, the detail and layering is mounted upon specified placement and has a high level of required precision, but from a far, the neon colored wash creates an image that is perfect and seamless as an over all whole. Nielly has experimented within the realms of painting, photography, illustration and computer generated animation her whole life. The video, FRANCOISE NIELLY "ME", shows of such talent in action and prooves the seemless ability that flows through her hands as she creates what she was clearly destined to do. "Her painting is expressive, exhibiting a brute force, a fascinating vital energy. Oil and knife combine to sculpt her images from a material that is , at the same time, biting and incisive, charnel and sensual." After all these words, still, I remain somewhat speechless...
