Portrait of a Portman...

With the recent controversy surrounding certain fashion periodicals and their choice of "cover shoots", it is refreshing and inspiring to see that in the UK, at least, hope has not been lost. U.S magazines including Harper's Bazaar (remember Angelina in July and Ms Jackson in September) and the most recent January InStyle, with Whitney Houston, have not been let off the hook for their lack of effort and artistic direction in creating a cover that captivates us on image alone. You can understand why I was over joyed and relieved to see the release of the February Elle UK cover with a stunning portrayal of actress and muse, Natalie Portman. The "Bohemian Rhapsody" story shows Portman in a revealing, raw, unguarded, yet exquisitely timeless, depiction. Without any context, the images do what any artistic images should do, reveal an entire story and evoke an emotion without any words to be found...
