Giles Spring 2013

LOVING this collection by Giles for Spring 2013. Leather was seen on numerous runways in the last few months in all different uses and silhouettes. The Giles collection displayed a beautiful use of laser cut leather in delicate yet statement making patterns. Many pieces also reflect back to Deacon's inspirations from pop artist Allen Jones. Cartoon proportions paired with curve hugging silhouettes and strong graphic lines kept the strength of contrast throughout the whole collection.

BLK DNM rising

There are a great handful of designers within the fashion industry that exude the drive for excellency
in art far more than others. Johan Lindeberg is no exception. He is a man driven to perform and create at his utmost potential and in the most beautiful and authentic way possible. In his most recent venture,
BLK DNM. Lindeberg infuses structured simplicity with a dual masculine/feminine edge to create
a collection centered around the use of leather, denim and precise tailoring, each look versatile,
wearable and clean cut to transcend from the current season to the next.
Available now, the Fall 2012 Ready-to-Wear Collection.

Denis Gagnon

Last weeks trip to Montreal has sprung up all sorts of inspiration and admiration for the Eastern Canadian talent that often gets overlooked by us over here on the West Coast. A chance pit stop along Saint-Paul Street of Vieux Montreal led me to the incredible designs of local designer, Denis Gagnon. His "couture approach to leather and precise cut of silk" make him one of the most sought after studios in the city and designers of his kind in North America.
