Black & White Come Back

As much as I might like to think I am one of those daring and adventuresome dressers, the ones that live for color and pattern and print, day to day, I keep it pretty simple. I am much more a lover of timeless classics and effortless layers that can be dressed up or dressed down with the appropriate additions. A glimpse into my closet would weigh about 75%  black, white, coal and cream to a modest 25% bright and bold anything. Luckily for a girl like me, the Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear collections have revived the tried and true with bold angles, wearable prints and wonderfully flattering silhouettes that take Black and White dressing to whole new level.

Valentino - Tribute to the Master of Couture

This November, the Somerset House in London will be staging a new exhibit celebrating the life and work of master couturier, Valentino Garavani. The exhibit will span just over 3 weeks and showcase over 130 of Valentino's most exquisite pieces of work. The show will also provide a glimpse into the early stages of Valentino's life and career through visual portraits and personal insights from the designer. It also provides a closer look into the inner workings of how couture has come to be and continues to exist today, though slowly slipping into non-existence given the vast and fast changes fashion continues to undergo.
