Aussie Architecture...

The Ashton Raggatt McDougal architects have been awarded the 2009 Victorian Architecture Medal for architectural design after their most recent masterpieces, the Melbourne Recital Center and the Melbourne Theater Company. The buildings are absolutely stunning and perfectly dramatic in composition! Their exteriors are an unusual mix of modern geometric design with a reference to 1950's pop architecture. The interiors are seen as a distinct mix of modern and classic design with a twist of space age imagery. Proof that architecture is one of the most admirable art forms to be found.

Miss Marilyn...

"I knew I belonged to the public, and to the world, not because I was talented or even beautiful, but because I had never belonged to anything or anyone else."

Irving Penn...

"Photographing a cake can be art." With an education and career that started almost 75 years ago, Irving Penn has become on of the most respected, recognizable and sometimes controversial photographers of our time. In 1985 he was rightfully named on of "The World's Greatest Photographers" by Popular Photography Magazine. Both his portraiture and still life force us to look past singular detail, and into the image as a whole, to understand the narrative that is always distinctly present. His early career showed a love for glamorous and classic art forms, and then moved into more modernistic, editorial mediums. Looking at his earlier pieces I am drawn to their mystery and capacity and I can't help but think of my sister who has always been, at heart, a 21st century starlet...

This is photography...

American Photographer Steven Meisel is a genius behind the lens. Studying at Parsons The New School for Design and an early job as Illustrator for Halston, has led to an international career in fashion and editorial photography. He has gone on to shoot campaigns for every major fashion label and every major fashion model. His work captures what the untrained eye does not see and magnifies those visions to make magic...

Miss Stam...

While I am on eyes, Miss Jessica Stam may have one of the most compelling and stunning pairs the fashion world has seen. The icy blue specks are spread across ads in every major magazine and can be seen most recently in Karl Lagerfeld's Fendi Fall campaign. One word for this Canadian bred beauty, STUNNING

One of my loves...

SHOES SHOES SHOES = LOVE LOVE LOVE
I stumbled upon this article at www.ninaandlol.com and instantly fell in love! 25 year old Sophie Gittins is taking the shoe world in the palm of her hand and giving it what every girl wants, walkable, wearable art. A graduate of the London College of Fashion, Sophie will soon debute her Winter 2009/10 line to anticipation and admiration.

He and She...

Only since about the 1960's has it become acceptable for a women to be seen in anything that resembled menswear. The creation of Le Smoking in 1966, by the brilliant YSL, allowed the masculine to cross into the feminine. And what a beautiful union it made! Still today, a women in a clean cut, tailored suit, jacket or pant, that was once reserved for the more professional male, looks more stunning than misplaced. Current designer Silence & Noise has created a line of these structured pieces to fit all types. Available at www.urbanoutfitters.com

Tranquility...

Sometimes we forget to breath, we forget to slow down and we run faster than our pace can keep. We forget that silence can speak volumes and rest really is the only way to fully rejuvinate... sometimes we need to JUST BE

Worlds unite....

I love when 2 unconventional images come together to make a beautiful contrast that we might not have seen on our own. This couple caught my eye with the edgy, stiff constraints of leather and lines combined with the delicate, fluid beauty of movement and lace. Perfect harmony.

Valentino: The Last Emperor

A compelling, engaging and realistic look at the genius behind his legendary label. Though his shoes may be impossible to fill, designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli showed a 09 Couture line that was much worthy of recognition and a hint towards the vision that Valentino created in his 45 years of masterpieces. No man will ever understand the way Valentino did that "Women just want to be Beautiful"

This is me...

Inspiration is everywhere. In everything we see, everything we feel, everything we encounter. This blog is a glimpse into the artistic mediums of this world that inspire me every day. From art to fashion to music to travel, there is never a shortage of beauty and expression in this world. Sometimes you have to look a little deeper and yes, past the surface, but trust me it is ALWAYS there, in it's own form and it's own identity. Be open to EVERYTHING
