NYC Alive...

mmmm Vogue...


I am always envious of the International Vogue covers, especially this month with the US version presenting a less then fashionable, and not so glamorous, "equestrianesque" image of Jessica Biel. The Australian's however was much more of the moment and gave us a glimpse into the 2010 trends for spring. Coral lips and turquoise nails maybe the hues of the hour...

Elie Everytime...












Like a child eagerly counting down the days till old Saint Nick plops atop their roof top, I too wait in anticipation for the Elie Saab Spring Couture Collection, and hold my breath in angst of what magical gifts may arrive. Alas, that day arrived and I was once again mesmerized and in awe of how beautifully a vision can be translate into the designs of an artist at work. With what was a much softer, subdue and elegant theme within the garments, romanticism and fairytales seemed to be the main direction. Though some may argue it's practicality as a Couture collection, "It could certainly answer every little girl's prayer"...

Riding into Couture...












As the Spring/Summer 2010 Men's Collections come to a close, the much anticipated Couture Shows are able to take center stage. Starting off the theatrical overload of design is the King of Couture himself, Mr. John Galliano for Christian Dior. In an uncustomary fashion, Galliano took a step in the direction of classic rather then eccentric and his transition was welcomed with deserving applause. Th equestrian inspired collection was so perfectly executed by combining both craftsmanship and outlandish creativity. The perfect start to the Couture season to follow...
